Dr. Shelita McGowan was born and raised in Kenner, Louisiana (outside of New Orleans). She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology in 1998. She also earned a Doctorate in Chiropractic in 2003. She is a practicing Chiropractor, wife, mom, sister, and friend to many. In addition to her career as a Chiropractor, Dr. Shelita has always had a passion for reading and writing for as long as she can remember. She also takes part in activities that help local area children. Dr. Shelita not only demonstrates a passion for writing to express her truth and her experience as it relates to overcoming trauma, but she is also committed to helping others overcome the traumas and fear focused beliefs that hold them back as well.
